Mothering Sunday at Maddings
15th of March 2026
Celebrate Mothering Sunday at the farm. Good food, family together, and a mum who doesn’t have to lift a finger.
Run by local people, serving local, seasonal & fresh food everyday with daily specials & our renowned Sunday Roasts. Fresh ingredients from nearby farms and trusted local suppliers.
Open from 9:30AM. Same menu all day. Brunch from open.
At Maddings, food is at the heart of the day. We cook and serve throughout our opening hours, so you can sit down and eat well whenever you arrive.
The menu & specials board brings together seasonal ingredients carefully selected from local farms & suppliers to make brunch plates, fuller dishes, and seasonal food sit comfortably side by side. It means you can enjoy a relaxed meal that suits the moment, whether you arrive early, late, or anywhere in between.

ALL DAY
Some dishes become part of the reason people return. Our rotisserie chicken (which we also use for Sunday Roast) is one of them. It is cooked slowly, served properly, and has earned its place on the menu through consistency rather than hype.
Sunday roast is the weekly centrepiece. It is the meal families plan around and regulars come back for again and again. Cooked with care and served in a setting that suits it, it turns a simple visit into a proper part of the week. If you are coming for Sunday roast, booking ahead is always a good idea.
The menu at Maddings is built around food we are proud to cook and happy to serve all day. It brings together brunch plates, proper lunch dishes, seasonal specials, and the flavours people come back for.
You can take a look before you visit, get a feel for what is on, and plan your stop at the farm. No surprises, no overthinking. Just good food, done properly, whenever you decide to come.
Our specials board is also available everyday, but don’t wait for too long. Once the dish is gone, its gone!
Where possible, we source from nearby farms and trusted local suppliers. It keeps the food fresh, seasonal, and consistent, and it means we know where our ingredients come from.
We keep this part simple. Ingredients are chosen because they are good, reliable, and right for the dishes we serve. When something is in season, it shows on the plate. When a supplier does good work, we stick with them. It is a straightforward approach, but it makes a real difference to how the food tastes.
Maddings is set within Whipley Manor Farm, surrounded by open space and a working farm feel that makes the visit part of the experience. It is easy to arrive, easy to park, and easy to settle in once you are here.
The setting suits both quick visits and longer meals, whether you are stopping by during the day or coming with a plan in mind. We do recommend booking a table in advance, especially at busier times, so your visit runs smoothly from the moment you arrive.
